Die Gawain in Die Krone!
During my pilgrimage to Shanghai, I happened upon yet another grail text, Die Krone, which once again places Gawain in my place as the grail knight. Such an emphasis on the importance of Gawain has made me wonder why he emerges as the hero while I descend into oblivion. Is he more charming than I am? Is he a better fighter? A better Christian?

Sir Gawain is a courageous and honerable knight of the round table. Gawain it seems has completely relpaced you due to your incompetance. Yet, it is my goal to replace both of you. Who better to serve than me? I am equally as heroic and my skill with the sword is unmatched by any. Who else can smote a castle down in one stroke? If the Grail needs to be found the king should send me. If any women are in distress they too can call upon me. When we go to war Arthur will call upon me.
Sir Gawain, My intentions were to simply succeed in finding the Grail with you. I was not strong enough. THe offerings were too much to resist and I failed because of it. THe next quest I have, I will succeed and we will meet again.
